Morning Announcements

Seniors, if you are planning on going on the senior trip, please pay the trips deposit of $40 to Ella Elling. The payment for this trip is due December 19th. If you need help paying this amount, please see Mrs. Dannenfelser.

Attention College Credit Plus students: once you are finished with your college classes for the semester, please turn your books to the office with your name on them. 

The Holiday spirit theme for tomorrow is – Elf Day Dress like an elf or wear an elf hat.

Auditions for the Spring Comedy/Drama Play will be held on Wednesday, December 10th, from 4 to 6 PM, and Thursday, December 11th, from 7 to 8:30 PM in Mr. Kraner’s room.  All students are welcome to try out. See Mr. Kraner with any questions.  `

The Junior High Lady Lancers hosted the Van Wert Cougars on Saturday, and both teams came away with victories.

In the 7th-grade game, Addie Horstman led the way with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Bristol Evans followed with 7 points and 6 rebounds, while Tess Evans contributed 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Lauren Geier scored 4 points, and Nora Longstreth and Jaelen Galloway each added 2 points in a 29–7 win.

For the 8th grade, Jayce Kill paced the team with 12 points. Maeleigh Evans added 10 points and 5 assists, Addie Breese recorded 9 points and 8 assists, and Cora Geiger chipped in 7 points along with 9 rebounds. Olivia Ford scored 4 points, and Sophia Ford added 2 points as the Lancers earned a 44–9 victory.

The girls travel to Antwerp tonight to take on the Archers.

Morning Announcements

Juniors and Seniors, Defiance College will be visiting Lancer Time this week. Sign up in your Google Classroom or your English Class. 

Juniors and Seniors, there will be a FAFSA night informational meeting held at the Van Wert PAC on Wednesday, October 1st from 6-7pm. Stop in the office for an informational letter and see your email for more details. Please share with your family. 

Any student who is interested in pursuing a job at Universal Letter should see Mrs. Lloyd in the office for more information. 

Any junior, sophomore or freshman who would like to serve on Student Council, please stop by the library and pick up an application form. All applications are due by today, Wednesday, September 24th.

If there is any student who did not purchase a yearbook last year and would like one we do have extras. They are $50. Please see Mrs. Ringwald if interested.

This week is Day of Caring Week.  We will be having competitions in Lancer Time to see which Lancer Time group can collect the most items.  Tomorrow will be the last day to bring in items.

Juniors - please vote for class officers. The form has been sent to you. You have until Friday at noon to vote.                        

There will be a meeting on Friday in the lecture hall for any JH or HS student interested in playing baseball this Spring. 

The soccer team travelled to Corey-Rawson last night and defeated the Fighting Hornets 4-2. Goal scorers included, Rowan Sutton, and Garrett Mosier, while Aiden Campbell netted 2 goals. Assists came from Ainsley Hoffman, Oli Longstreth, Eli Owens, and Zavier Kemler. The team travels to Bluffton Monday night to take on the Pirates.

The junior high cross country teams competed at the Bath Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday evening. The girls team won the meet, beating out 12 other schools for their first invitational win of the season!!!  The team finished with just 30 points and were led by a 1-2 finish from eighth graders Maeleigh Evans & Addie Breese!  Other scoring runners included Harper Pohlman, Kenzie Mount, and Adelyn Bittner.  Evie Polley helped secure the victory by beating out the second place team's 5th runner!  Great race Lancers!!! 

The boys team placed 5th out of 15 schools.  They had three top-30 finishers including Mylan Hammons in 28th place.  Mylan ran his best race of the season with a near PR time on a night when most runners were 40 to 50 seconds slower than their season best. Keep up the good work boys!!!

The high school science club started spring break by competing in the Science Olympiad Regional at BGSU on Saturday, March 15th.  The team brought home 7 sets of medals - one more than last year - and twelve top ten finishes!  The following are the events in which the Lancers placed in the top ten:

Ecology - 2nd place - Moriah Bertsch & Lindsey Hatcher

Fossils - 5th place - Evan Elling & Abbie Jones

Helicopter - 5th place - Ella Stemen & Lincoln Anderson

Microbe Mission - 5th place - Lindsey & Alex Hefner

Optics - 5th place - Evan & Blaze Linser

Robot Tour - 5th place - Ella & Lincoln

Astronomy - 6th place - Lindsey & Finley Howard

Disease Detectives - 7th place - Kelsey VanCleave & Lindsey

Electric Vehicle - 7th place - Alex & Xavier Magner

Dynamic Planet - 10th place - Abbie & Lindsey

Tower - 10th place - Blaze & Lillian Mosier

Wind Power - 10th place - Ella & Finley

The team placed 9th out of 20 teams, and just one place out of qualifying for the state level competition! Well done Lancer Science Club!!
