New K-12 School Quarantine Guidelines (1-12-2021)
The Lincolnview Local Schools would like to inform Lincolnview parents, students, and community that there has been a small minor change from the Ohio Department of Health regarding “K-12 School Quarantine Guidelines.” As Governor Mike DeWine continues to move towards more schools operating with in-school instruction, K-12 quarantine guidelines have been changed in attempt to keep more students in school on a daily basis, while looking at student health data to help make this decision.
Updated guidelines from the Ohio Department of Health:
“If a student or teacher is exposed in the classroom setting to someone with COVID-19, quarantine is not recommended for the exposed individual as long as masking and other appropriate protocols were followed.”
“Quarantine continues to be advised for anyone who is exposed in the classroom if protocols have not been followed (e.g., students or adults in the classroom did not properly wear masks).”
Therefore, we will continue wearing masks and also directing students to do the same, as well as, proper hand sanitizing and trying to maximize social distancing. With this new change in guidelines from the Ohio Department of Health we should have less number of students out of the building quarantining if we do our part of masking up, washing up, and backing up.
PLEASE read the attached document from the Ohio Department of health for more information.
