I will start by saying, “Isn’t it great to be a Lancer.” My name is Kelly Dye and I have been the Middle/High School Principal for 11 years. I graduated from Buckeye Central High School in 1984. I attended Bluffton College where I graduated in 1988 with a major in Comprehensive Social Studies. I received my principal’s license from The University of Dayton and Ashland University.

Education plays such a major role in preparing our students to be successful in our global society. It is our job to promote and challenge our students to reach their full potential. Every year we must challenge our students and raise the level of expectations. We should never be content with just doing well; that is not good enough. If we follow this philosophy, we will give every student the quality education they deserve. We will also have prepared them for the future as adults in an every-changing society.

Lincolnview Middle/High School will begin practicing 21^st Century Learning Skills for 2011-2012. Some of the key words related to these skills are: communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. We already practice a lot of these skills, but we will focus on how these skills will help our students prepare to be competitive in our society.

In all that we do at our school we are preparing our students for college or the work force. We will practice good work habits, good behavior, and good attendance. Teachers will be demanding our students, will be enforcing the school Code of Conduct as outlined in the Student Handbook, and using our Attendance Policy to ensure sound learning is taking place.

I am a member of the Lincolnview community and am very proud of our school and community. This school year will bring new challenges and opportunities for us to take advantage of – “Isn’t it great to be a Lancer!”
